After the data in his rocket is damaged during his arrival on Earth, Superman grows up struggling to discover where he comes from and who he is supposed to become. But when a mysterious alien named Brainiac appears claiming it can provide him with all the answers he seeks, Superman must define what he stands for as he is pitted against a high-tech civilisation with the power to manipulate space and time; a powerful alien race known as Kryptonians.
